Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) is excited to introduce four new principals for the upcoming school year. Clairmont Community School, Hythe Regional School, La Glace School, and Robert W. Zahara School will all welcome new administrators this fall. Wembley Elementary School will welcome back Mrs. Theresa Simmonds to start the 2026-2027 school year.
Mrs. Ashley Tower and Mrs. Holly Martin
Mrs. Ashley Tower, current Acting Principal of Clairmont Community School (CCS), has accepted the permanent position and is excited to continue her work with the CCS community. “It has been a privilege to work alongside our dedicated staff, wonderful students, and supportive families. I am truly looking forward to continuing in this role and building on the strong foundations we have established together.” She says she is committed to working collaboratively with families and staff to ensure every student feels supported, inspired, and empowered to succeed.
Mrs. Holly Martin, who has taught at Hythe Regional School (HRS) since 2013, has been named its newest principal. Mrs. Martin has experience teaching students in Kindergarten through Grade 9, and received her Master of Education in Literacy from Queens University in 2025. “I’m looking forward to continuing to support the community I grew up in, and have had the privilege to teach in. I care deeply about the HRS community, and am honoured to work alongside our students, staff, and families as we learn and grow together.” Mrs. Martin is also a member of the PWPSD Practice-Based Professional Learning Cohort, which has enabled her to lead district Professional Development days, with a focus on assessment.
Mrs. Erin Eady and Mrs. Rebecca Evarts
Mrs. Erin Eady will return for the 2026-2027 school year as principal of La Glace School. She has taught PWPSD students for nearly 30 years and has been at La Glace School since 1999. “I am deeply honoured and truly grateful to have been chosen as the principal of our community school. Having dedicated 26 years to serving our students, families, and staff, this school is not just my workplace – it is my home.” She shares that having the privilege to temporarily step into the principal role a few years ago was an incredibly meaningful experience, and she never imagined an opportunity to take on the role permanently would present itself. “I am proud of the strong foundation our school community has built together, and am committed to continuing our tradition of academic excellence, community partnership, and unwavering support for every student.” Mrs. Eady is looking forward to working alongside talented staff, engaged families, and amazing students as they write the next chapter of La Glace School’s story together.
Mrs. Rebecca Evarts, current Assistant Principal of Robert W. Zahara School, says she is deeply humbled and proud to accept the principalship of the school. “For the past 11 years, this school has been my home as a Kindergarten teacher, in Inclusive Education, and most recently as Assistant Principal. As both a staff member and community member, and as a parent whose children have grown throughout these halls, this building holds a special place in my heart.” She adds inclusive education is near and dear to her, and she is committed to ensuring every student feels valued, supported, and successful. “I have tremendous respect and love for our staff and look forward to continuing the hard work ahead in a collaborative and caring way. Mrs. Rorem is truly irreplaceable, and I am honoured to step into this role and carry forward the strong foundation she has built.” Mrs. Evarts, along with Mrs. Tower, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Eady, will move into their principal roles in September.
Mrs. Theresa Simmonds
Mrs. Theresa Simmonds, who is currently Acting Principal of Wembley Elementary School (WES), will continue in the role for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. She says she is super excited to continue at WES for the next while, and that this school year has been a real pleasure.
